Dr Sandeman completed his undergraduate studies - MBBS BSc(Med) - at the University of New South Wales, graduating with Honours in 2001 . Internship and residency years were spent at Gosford District Hospital, with specialty training in respiratory & sleep medicine being subsequently completed at Royal North Shore and Concord Repatriation Hospitals, Sydney. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), gaining recognition as a Respiratory & Sleep Specialist in 2010.
